COURSE OBJECTIVE
 
The course surveys economic policies pursued after the Second World War. Lectures cover debates on long-term economic policies. The focus will be international institutions, economic policies and industrialization policies. The course also considers the implications of these policies in different country groups. 
 
COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND GRADING
 
The primary requirements of the course are to keep current with the readings and to participate in the classroom discussion. The students are also expected to write and present a paper. The paper should be 10-15 pages, with 20 pages as the maximum. The paper must be typed. Complete footnoting of all quotations and paraphrasing is essential. For the citation and reference formats, you must refer to “Writing Guide for Term Papers and Theses” (mimoza.marmara.edu.tr/~economics/webpage/WritingGuide_V1_2006.pdf).
Grades for this course will be determined from the performance on class participation, a paper, and an essay-type open book midterm and final examinations.
