I
was born and grew up in a small willage in Bulgaria. There is large population
of ethnic turks in Bulgaria (remaining from Ottoman times) and we belonged to
them. In 1989, there was forced (by the government) mass emigration of the
ethnic turks from Bulgaria to Turkey, during which together with my family I
moved to Istanbul.
