ENVE-205
Environmental Engineering Hydrology
CHAPTER I: Introduction
In this chapter,
introductory information about the hydrologic cycle and its relevance to
society is presented.
Study Plan:
·
Learning
the social importance and engineering relevance of hydrologic science (Section
1.2).
·
Learning
the water budget and mass balance concepts (Section 1.3).
·
Learning
the hydrologic cycle and its components, incorporating the mass balance concept
into hydrologic cycle calculations, defining precipitation, evaporation,
transpiration, infiltration, abstraction, depletion storage, rainfall excess,
and runoff in basic sense (Section 1.4).
·
Example
problem 1.1.
·
Homework
problems 1, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13.
