 CSE8016 - Vehicular Networks and Intelligent Transportation Systems

Course Description

This course deals with the V2X Communications including in-car networking and networking among cars as well as the design principles, modeling, and evaluation of Vehicular Networks (VANETs). We will focus on (1) applications, their requirements, and system components (2) enabling technologies and the standards, (3) data dissemination approaches, (4) tools and techniques for the performance evaluation of Vehicular Networks .

NEW on this year:

(1) We will focus on 3GPP standards on 5G-V2X in addition to the ETSI and IEEE 1609 standards on 5.9GHz V2X communications.

(2) This year, we will re-focus on security in V2X Communications. Homeworks and projects will be mainly on this topic.
